I'm trying to figure out if I can leverage our enterprise Qlik account for one-off data visualization.
The use case: We collect quantitative data from about 10 user evaluations, where we collect about 100 data points per user. We want to slice/dice this data based on what part of an application they were using. Maybe put means and min/max bars.
Is there a way in Qlik to just upload a spreadsheet and then use Qlik to slide/dice/visualize? Much like I might do in a statistics package like JMP?
Ideally, I'd like to run some statistics. But that's not essential and I don't think Qlik does stats.
Thanks,
Bill
Hello, I can give you an overview here.
Data Upload: You can upload your spreadsheet containing the quantitative data from the 10 user evaluations into Qlik. Qlik supports various data formats, such as Excel, CSV, and others, so you should be able to import your data easily.
Data Modeling: After uploading the data, Qlik will automatically create a data model based on the structure of your spreadsheet. It will try to recognize the fields and data types to build the associations between different data elements.
Data Visualization: Once the data is loaded and modeled, you can start creating visualizations. Qlik provides a user-friendly interface that allows you to drag and drop fields onto the canvas to create different types of charts, such as bar charts, line charts, scatter plots, and more. You can then slice and dice the data based on different criteria, like the application part, to create the desired visualizations.
Aggregations and Statistics: Qlik enables you to perform aggregations on your data, such as calculating means, minimums, maximums, and other summary statistics. While Qlik is primarily a data visualization tool, it does offer some basic aggregation functions that should suffice for your needs. However, for more advanced statistical analysis, you might need to use dedicated statistical packages like JMP or export the data from Qlik to perform analysis in other tools.
Overall, Qlik is well-suited for interactive data exploration, visualizations, and basic statistical analysis. It allows you to quickly gain insights from your data and make data-driven decisions. For more complex statistical analyses, you can combine the visualization results from Qlik with outputs from dedicated statistical software.
If you require more detail you would have to learn qlik or hire a consultant who can do the calculations for you.
Although for basic topics you can learn with tutorials.
