All data connections cleared when new app created

Hi All,

I am not sure if this is a Qlik sense Desktop error or if this is my computer error.

If I can create a new app (ex; Sales) then create all folder/sql connections, then if i create a second app (ex; Customer Services) I would expect the connections from Sales app should still be there

but on my case all connections disappears so i have to recreate all connections again for every new app i create which is really a pain.

Would you please advice if there is any resolution to this?

Many thanks,

Hey there,

There is no easy way to say this, but you can't create an app with some connections and expect those connections be there when you create a new app. This is not an issue here, this is simply how Qlik Sense Desktop and any kind of Qlik product I know works. When you create a new app you get a clean new environment. There is no way to just simply create a connection that is the same in every app, that would be counter productive and dangerous security wise.

On QlikView you could make this using a file such as .qvs with some pre made code with the connection string in it, but in Qlik Sense there is no way period.

Maybe, just maybe what you can do to get the tables from one app to another is using a binary load statement in which you grab the data from Sales App and put in your Customer Services App, but that's all you can do.

Hope this helps you.

Best regards,

Mb

Hi Amir,

When u're using Qlik Sense DESKTOP : each application is unique; has its unique connections and is not associated to the other apps.

In Qlik Sense SERVER, u can see, by default, all the connections u've made in one accross ur other apps.
