Alternatives for port 4244 windows authentication

Hi,

My corporate network does not allow connections through port 4244. Therefore, I am unable to login on the Sense Hub of the external Qlik Sense server (hosted at Azure).

I have setup authentication in the following way:

- Authentication is based on local windows users on Sense server

- No anonymous users

- Virtual proxy-> Windows authentication pattern = Windows (i.e. default value)

What alternatives/solutions for authentication do I have to overcome this issue?

Thanks!

Hi Jveldhoen,

You can change the ports in QMC, so it isn't mandatory to use port 4244.

Ok thanks, didn't know this. Now I have to find out which port would work with our corporate network.

Hi jveldhoen,

Use the port settings in QMC to change these. Also you can enable https by selecting the check box in the port settings which will open up port:4248

Thanks,

Sangram.

Hi

I have the same issue as above, and the same configuration (local users so need to use NTLM auth)

Is it possible to use port 443 for the authentication module? (I.E using only 443 for everything?)

Hi Evard,

I don't think that IE using only 443, it hasn't got control over ports, but system/programs configuration.

You can change the used port at QMC.If you have to use only one port e.g. you can set up a reverse proxy on the top of Sense (eg. apache).

Hi Evard,

I ended up using custom authentication (i.e. Auth0 in a SAML configuration) to resolve this issue. Hope this helps.
