Area layer map custom colors

Hi, I am trying to customize the coloring scheme for this area layer map. I tried  vColorMixLight/vColorMixDark variables and adding this to a color by expression formula: ColorMix1( rank(total column(1))/noofrows(TOTAL) , $(vColorMixDark), $(vColorMixLight))

but I am not having any luck.

Does anyone know how to customize the colors for an area layer map successfully?

Variant of color adjustment in Qlik Sense for KML file in the attached file (For India, but the idea of a common).

I tried opening your file but received an error: "The hypercube results are too large."

Right now, I have one dimension = state and the measure is a count(rx_name), how can I color by expression if I am already coloring by measure?
