Cannot export chart as an image

What might be the root cause of failure to export chart as an image in Qlik Sense server edition?

After I click button "Export" progress indicator starts rolling and no output is produced. I can click "Cancel" and return to Qlik.

Result is the same both in IE and in Chrome and both with "Current" and "Custom" settings.

Export as an image works for Qlik Desktop edition on the same laptop (Qlik Sense server is installed on server, not on laptop), therefore I gather that this should not be a browser issue.

Your reference to logs has kickstarted my brain

Export is managed by printing service and relevant logs can be found in C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log\Printing\Audit

Restart of Qlik's printing service has resolved the issue.

How about other export options?  "Export Data", "Export as PDF"? Are they working?

How big is the data set? Did you try to make some selections and export the chart after that?

Which QS version are you using?

Other export options do work.

Export as an image doesn't work for all dataset sizes, big and small.

No filters are applied before attempt to export as an image is made.

Qlik Sense version is 2.2.3

Interesting case...

Few suggestions/questions:

1. I do not think it's a version-related issue, despite the fact that v. 2.2.3 was not very stable. Issues were related to repository stability, so I do not think your case is related to that.. But Qlik recommends to upgrade your system to 2.2.4, so you might try it...

2. Can you check the logs to see if any errors were reported? I was able to find records of temp Image creation/export in C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log\Repository\Trace\DWQLIK01_Audit_Repository.txt file on my system....

3. Any issues with memory overload on the server?

4. Can you attach your QVF file here?

Does not explain why the PDF and Data export did work in your case though...
