Cloud or On Premise?

Cloud or On Premise?
Hello.
we are a company that resold QlikView, long ago.
our customers are single application. Their database is on the MSSql platform whose dimensions are approximately 10 - 20 gb.
for some customers I have Apps that weigh around 100 - 200 Mb.
I would like to migrate these customers to the Qlik Sense platform.
I was advised to purchase QSE with a Professional license and a number of Analyzer licenses equal to the number of customers I can migrate.
I can't decide whether to buy the cloud or on premise version. my doubts are:
1 - if each customer has their own database on their servers, is the data loading performance better if I purchase a Cloud license or if I purchase an on premise license?
2- from a legal point of view can I sell this service correctly?
3- to improve the loading speed is it highly recommended to manage incremental uploads?
4 - is there any qlik sense features that help me with this implementation?
5 - is the data transfer safe?

thanks and sorry for too many questions but I have to make a decision as some customers are already migrating to competing platforms.

Hi Franco,

Here some answers:

  • If the data is on their own server, for SaaS you need Qlik Data Transfer. Fata loading Performance could be a bit slower with the SaaS, but depends a bit on the data volume.
  • You can still sell this service. Don't see why not.
  • Incrementals is always faster, but the database need to support it.
  • Not sure what kind of feature you are looking for.
  • Transfer is save while it's a push model with QDT. You can also connect directly to the database but I wouldn't advice it!

thanks Jordy.

Could you explain the last point better? I have not understood well.

Regarding the first point, can you confirm that Qlik Data Transfer is included in the Qlik Sense Enterprise license?

it is certain that all these doubts could be eliminated by providing a trial license valid for longer.!

Hi Franco,

Qlik Data Transfer works as a push model. You set up the connection between your database and your Qlik Sense SaaS tenant. Then you select the tables you want to load (in QDT) and this is pushed to your Qlik Sense SaaS tenant in QVDs.

QDT is a free tool, so you can use it for free.

I would assume that the trial should be sufficient.
