Connection to 4d database

Hi,

I am trying to connect to a 4d database file which contains our Medical Practice Software.

The 4d file sits on a Mac server computer on a local network.

I have a successful connection via an ODBC 4d driver to the server computer.

When I connect via QS (loaded on a Mac with Bootcamp), I get the error "ErrorMsg: Server rejected the connection: On SQL Authentication Failed".

I've tried to connect via SSMS, but after putting in the Server name (IP,PortNumber), and SQL Username and Password, I get the error message " An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host".

The Username and Password are correct, as able to test via ODBC.

4D version 16.

Driver downloaded from 4d website, also v16.

With thanks

Bruce

I’ve worked it out.

As the program, Genie, is a licensed product it obviously, takes a license to use the program, but also takes one to run an SQL query.

We have four licenses at work, so when all were being used, I couldn’t query Db.

Once I closed my instance on a client machine, SQL worked like a dream.

Thx. Bruce
