Date Format in Line Chart

I have a line chart that shows the sales as a trend. In the x-axis, I want to show the date as MMM-YY and the formula I give is: date(date#([Report Date], 'MM/DD/YY'),'MMM YY'). The y-axis is a sum of sales. Now I want the x-axis to show date as MMM-YY, for example 'Jan-19'. I tried to uncheck continuous axis, but my date field is weekly and this will not work. Any thoughts on this?

Hey,

what do you mean that your date field is weekly? Is it being saved every week but in the normal date format like the one you try to convert from('MM/DD/YY')?  Or is it in the format like this: WW/YYYY?
