Date Picker not accepting dates

I am having problems with the date ranger picker. 

I have tried to load different date formats in to Qlik to see which one might work (see below) but but I'm not allowed to select any of the columns as input (input value).  All the columns below gives me properly formatted data that I can see when I put it in to a table, it just doesn't work in the extension

Date format 1	Date format 2	Date format 3	Date format 4	Date format 5	Date format 6
1970-01-01	01-01-1970	01/01/1970	1970-01-01	1970/01/01	01.01.1970

I have read other threads about formatting issues with date range picker but I can't find a solution that works for me. 

Can you assist?

Hi Johanjo

First align your date formats in the model.

Then try to tag your date field with date tag, see example below

TAG field [Date] with '$date';
