Default Selection from Filter Pane when App is Opened

Hello,

When I open an app, I would like there to be a selection already made before I click on anything else. Is there a way to make this automatically select a value from the filter pane "Reporting Month" field?

the solution which you provided is not appropriate or not working 

i have a dashboard which have already a Pre-selected filter but don't know how they did,

and Also i have Downloaded that those app which you guys given  and it nowhere showing the selection

so please  help
