Don't overwrite user's custom sheet

Hello Everyone,

I have a QS dashboard that is currently published to a stream.  Some users have made their own sheets in the dashboard.  The need has arisen for some changes to be made in the app.  To accomplish this, I've duplicated the app and made changes to the app that has appeared in my Work stream.

If I publish-and-replace the current app in the public stream, will the users lose their custom sheets?  I don't think they will, but I'd rather ask than be astonished that angry users are out for blood.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

No, the users will retain their custom sheets when you publish and replace.  If the changes that you made removed a field, measure, or dimension that they are using in the custom sheet they may no longer work as intended.

Hi,

I wonder what would happen if you get a copy of the app to improve it, then a custom sheet is published to the community (stream) and then 'approved' to become a base sheet. Will we have a problem then as the app you're working on doesn't have that particular base sheet?

Cheers,

Luis
