ERROR[28000][Qlik][DSI](20032) Required setting 'UID' is not present in the connection settings

Greetings,

I have moved preconfigured qvf file to my new laptop and I'm facing a mentioned error while trying to connect to the PostgreSQL database. Could you please help me solve this issue - on the old laptop it's still working.

Many thanks for help!

Hi @mateusz_nitek

As you moved to a new workstation, you should go through this checklist.

  • The error is related to the login credentials (user id and password) for the PostgreSQL database.
  • Do you change anything at the PostgreSQL server site? or you can open the application at the old workstation, then open its script editor, find the PostgreSQL connection, edit it, scroll down until you find the login/password.
  • The nature of the error indicate that the PostgreSQL client drivers are installed on your PC
  • Are you able to connect to the PostgreSQL database from your PC/workstation using a DB client like Squirrel?
  • Are you connecting to a different environment, like development or tests?

Hope this helps,

HI @ArnadoSandoval

Thanks for your answer 😉

I see now that on the new laptop, I have in general issues to connect with anything. I tried Salesforce and even excel - both didn't work. I think (I'm not sure) it can be some office 'administrator' permissions. I moved qvf from my private laptop to the work one for testing purposes due to checking BI solutions - First choice is Qlik so far, so digging to solve it and present what I have prepared.

What we did with my IT is, we have disabled firewall for Qlik but no success yet. Do you have any experience what else should I take look at? Is it some engine / connector issue what has to be installed / permission granted?

Best,

Mateusz

It sounds like your work laptop is not connecting to anything on the network; Are you able to connect to the Internet with the new laptop? My best guess is that your new laptop and work environment can't see each other, the most likely cause could be network configuration; were you able to connect to the work network with your old laptop? if the answer is yes, you should check-compare the network configuration between the old and new laptops? Are you able to ping the work server from the new laptop? there are too many things, it is hard to troubleshot from here, I suggested the usual suspects.

Good luck

@ArnadoSandoval sorry, I should mention it straight that network is working properly - I can access websites, our cloud software, etc. - only Qlik has troubles. I also checked http://localhost:4848/hub/ and it works - I mean, I can access it from webbroweser.

Yes, I am able to ping work server this wasn't an issue - also thought about this. I checked my phone as a hotspot - the same. For sure this is some laptop's network configuration for using external software as Qlik - but the case is that if I will not tell network guys what to do it will last daaaaays or even weeks. That's how they work 😅

How do you connect to PostgreSQL? ODBC or directly? Have you check the ODBC local configuration between laptops? I will install Squirrel, a client application to connect to PostgreSQL; I understand your predicament with the IT team, they seems to behave like that all around the world LOL
