Efficient way on Mapping Data

Can you help me out?

Visualization design is about encoding data, that is, mapping data onto graphical elements. What is the most efficient of these encodings?

- Color difference

- Angle/Slope

- Area

- Length

Thanks a lot!

Hi Kevin,

Need to explain more about your requirement.

Thanks,

Not exactly sure what you are asking, but if you want to know which data visualisations to use then humans can perceive changes in length far easier than say area or slope, especially when values are similar.

With regards to colour, remember that a proportion of males are red/green colour blind so may not see a colour change in the same way you do.

I came across this site which has some useful examples of the pros and cons of different ways to visualise data.

I believe this was one of the preparation questions for Qlik certification so probably there is no real requirement behind it.

So was the color difference the correct one?
