Engine API: Where do I send the jsonrpc requests?

I know about the Engine API Explorer (http://localhost:4848/dev-hub/engine-api-explorer) but if I want to send requests via eg Java or PHP to the engine, where do I send these?

http://localhost:4848/WHERE-TO?
