Extract and transform folder, how are the data getting there?

I have two folders, extract and transform.

Inside these folders are different qvd sheets that are getting updated information from sql server. The qvd has updated timestamps when the tasks are ran.

How can you modify it to add new data to pull from sql ?
Right now, these are run on tasks automatically so I want to continue that to get  new data.

I'm able to pull data manually from sql and create new qvd files, but then the data are not update automatically like the other qvd files.

From the above I take it you are using Qlik to STORE new qvd? If so, this same app needs to be on a schedule. This is normally done via QMC.

Hopefully this helps a little.

Can you explain further or have further documentation?
I guess I'm not understanding how the qvd files are generated automatically. Is it because of the tasks that is associate with that app?

I will try to steer you.

1) Do you have any current operational QlikView or Qlik Sense apps that connects to your sql db, extracts data and stores the data into qvd's?

2) Are you working in a desktop environment or server?

3) If it is a server environment, are you a Qlik Administrator?

1. Yes, it's connect to sql. There's tasks that set to update apps with new data.
When the tasks are ran, it updates the qvd in extract and transform folder. You then have data load editor load these fields with new information. I want to know how and what the data are being extracted. I can't figure it out.
2. Server environment
3. Yes, I inherited it.

You need to create a new task to reload this file:

"You then have data load editor load these fields with new information.

So what the tasks do is:

The 1st task creates the qvd's and the 2nd task updates the app.

Is it at all possible to share a screen?

Yes, it's possible.
I still can't understand how the tasks are updating it. The only thing the tasks has are the app name that it's updating.
