I does not feel good...

But I feel that problem has a simple solution, similar to Anaconda (provide the proxy server or proxy setup config).

The problem is - from where Qlik sense desktop authentication service  pickups the proxy settings... or how to check it and fix it.

For example, in Google Chrome you can type chrome://net-internals/#proxy and you see the proxy setup. Similar construct is in Internet Explorer. These browsers pickup proxy data from system proxy settings.

But how on earth Qlik Sense Desktop manages this? How to configure this to make the authentication work?

I still have this issue.

I think that Qliksense cannot pass thru my corporate proxy, because proxy uses authentication.

Qliksense correctly pickups the proxy settings from Windows, but cannot authenticate itself and gets rejected.

If there is a way to configure Qlik  - different proxies, logins/passwords - then it will access the QlikID authentication server. I could not find it.

I switched to PowerBI - it is very comparable tool to Qliksense. I do not say it is great or better, but it is on par from my humble point of view.

If you're into open source - try python (pandas is fantastic for data manipulation) and Plotly&Dash for visualizations. It is very surprising to see how powerful and flexible these tools are, even compared to mature software products from Qlik and Microsoft.

also it is possible to get thru proxy using NTLM authentication (like Chrome or Internet Explorer do).

I think that Qliksense supports the NTLM authentication mode, at least against Qliksense server. Not sure if this can be used to authenticate against proxy, and if yes - how to configure it.

Hi Andy,

Sorry to chase for a old post. Did it really work for you after the custom installation without changing any path etc? Did you get any response from Qlik on this?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Susant
