Filtering a table based on an attribute

I know this is probably really simple, but I can't seem to find out how to do it. I have a table and I am wanting to filter it so that is displays only records which have a certain value for an attribute. I want this filter to persist, so the filter pane isn't that I am looking for. As far as I know, set analysis is used to filter a measure, but I am wanting to filter the whole table. Would this be done in the calculation condition? I tried that using an if condition, but that just makes it so that none of the records in the table display unless there the attribute is selected in the filter pane.

Why not filter your data when load it?

like

load field 1, ...field n

from "your table"

where "your attribute field" = some value

I want to create two tables, one filtered for one value and one filtered for the other for that attribute.

Is there seriously no simple way to do this in Qlik Sense?
