Folder Data Connection in server

Qlik Sense version 3.0

I am using the browser client(of dev server) to do the development. In Data Connection when i clicked on the Create New Connection i am not able to see the Folder option.

Do Qlik sense admin has to provide the access ? how to create the folder data connection?

Hi,

For the browser level, you need to have enough permissions to access the folder or create new database connection.

something like root admin..

hi,

at the server/hub when write new apps you have "data load editor". here you can chose create new connection and the first option is "Folder".

you don't have that ?

"If the Folder option is not available, you do not have access right to add folder connections. Contact your Qlik Sense system administrator."

As shre909 and Richard mentioned, it's a security setting (security rule).  By default, the rule 'FolderDataConnection' is limited to RootAdmin, ContentAdmin, or SecurityAdmin.,  Your user profile is not part of these roles, hence why you cannot see the folder.  Your admin will be able to add you to one of these existing roles or create a new security rule that specifically grants access to you and/or other individuals.

Harvey.
