Get KML File in Region level

Hi,

I need help on how we can create map chart on region level. After doing many readings, I got to know that we need KMl file and then upload it into Qlik.

I have go thru many videos but I still don't understand how and where to start to create the KML file like what I need and load it into Qlik.

I have around 7 regions and each region contains respective countries. I would like to visual the map chart by region. Hence, on the chart I will be able to see big shades for those 7 regions respectively.

I would like to achieve like in the image below as example.

How I can achieve this? Your help needed and thank you very much for the support.

hi,

you can try making the kml using google
https://support.google.com/fusiontables/answer/171215?hl=en

Export KML for Google Earth

You can share a public or unlisted map for viewing in Google Earth. The table needs to be downloadable.

What is exported to KML?

  • Map styles and info windows.
  • Geocoding done within Fusion Tables is not exported. Google Earth will initiate geocoding of location descriptions while viewing a KML file.
  • Placemarks are labeled using "name" column, or failing that, the left-most text column.

Static KML

Download a static copy of the map for viewing in Google Earth. Open the downloaded file in Google Earth, email the file to your friends, or upload it to your website to share.

  1. While looking at the map, choose File > Download.
  2. Select KML.
    • If a filter is currently applied to the map, choose whether to apply it for the KML download.
  3. Click Download.

Subsequent changes to the Fusion Table won't appear in this static copy of the data.

Dynamic KML link

A dynamic link from Google Earth to your Fusion Table means that any changes to your data online are reflected when viewed in Google Earth.

  1. From the map tab, choose File Download.
  2. Select KML Network Link.
    • If a filter is currently applied to the map, choose whether to apply it for the KML download.
  3. Click Download.
  4. You receive a small KML file that you can open in Google Earth to view the map.

can follow the steps or can look in to this link
