I have a bunch of tables in my data connections that are all connected by one dimension.
These tables also share many similar dimensions. Lets use "dimension4" as an example. When I create a filter for these dimensions, I'm given the option to choose "table1.dimension4" or "table2.dimension4", but not just dimension4 itself. This means every filter I make only filters some of the data. Is there a way to set up my data so these related dimensions can all be filtered by one filter?
Thanks!
P.S. This also would be handy for chart/pivot filters as well.
You would need to update your data model so that both dimension fields are combined into one and then use that one as your filter.
This course from QCC is specifically for dates, but the same can be applied to any other type of field. I suggest giving it a watch: https://learning.qlik.com/course/view.php?id=1431
