Discussion board where members can get started with Qlik Sense.
I really thought v3.0 would provide this capability. We can easily customize colors for regular bar charts, but not combo charts. Am I missing something?
It is rather annoying right!
Perhaps the following by @steve street might assist though:
Re: color by expression - QlikSense
Unfortunately, that method is too restrictive given the type of dimensions I’m using. If it could be done without hardcoding dimension values, then it might work.
Maybe it will help for something else at some point.
I just wish Qlik would address the issue and be done with it.
Why does color by expression not work? What are you trying to do?
If you have a bar chart with two measures and one dimension, you cannot customize the bar colors (as far as I can tell).
That's correct. You'll need to have one expression for a custom color.
I've found that there's usually a way to get what you need by adding a second dimension, using set analysis, and/or using logic in the color expression.
Or, if none of that works, the most drastic measure is altering your data model. Hope that helps.
