How to migrate an existing QS app that reads files in Excel, to a connection in SQL Server?

My question is if everything that has been developed with the App, has to be redone, such as calculated fields, cubes, design of the same App, etc?

You should just be able to alter the data connection - as long as the fields have the same name I don't think anything else in the app needs to be changed.
