New to Qlik Sense

I cannot use Qlik Sense

Hello everyone,

I have just installed Qlik Sense to try it a bit. After the installation is completed, I have clicked on the shortcut on my desktop and I got the error message : "Authentification Failure, please check your username ans password"..

What is that ? I don't even know what username and password it is refering to...

Any idea ? I haven't found anything on that on the internet ..

Are you sure that u installed Qlik Sense or Qlik Sense Server??

Yes, I am sure. Here is a screenshot of what appears when I try to open Qlik Sense :/

Hi Laura,

Did you install the software as the same username that is trying to run the application?

I know some people who always install software using administrator login.

Hi Laura - this may be related to some of the local security and network  settings on your machine.

Try this:

If so:

  • Close Qlik Sense
  • go to C:\Users\<user profile>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Log
  • delete all log files
  • Start Qlik Sense
  • send us new log file that was created - by attaching to this discussion

This also may be related to local network settings, that sometimes involve the use of a proxy server. if you can check your network settings - internet options and make sure to bypass proxy for local addresses:

Some other things you can also try:

  • Uninstall Qlik Sense
  • Make sure you are logged in with a user account that can install software
  • OR - when installing make sure to choose Run as Administrator...
