Introduction video to QlikSense for end users

Good morning,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help. We're getting ready to launch our new suite of QlikSense apps and we are looking to include some video content to introduce Qlik/QlikSense (e.g. where things are, the associative engine etc). If necessary we will record our own video but I was wondering whether anyone knew of any existing videos which might be useful (no sense in reinventing the wheel right?).

I found a couple on the Qlik Youtube channel however, both these videos talk about AI insights, machine learning, creating your own apps - none of which our users will be using within our apps. There are also videos targeting developers rather than end users.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Matt

Hello,

I am not 100% sure what you mean with "Introduce Qlik/Qlik Sense". However, here are some of my suggestions and some links:

  1. If you are talking about the elements of Qlik Sense and how to use them (e.g. Dropdown menu, Buttons etc.), then most of them are self explanatory, in the sense that I believe there is no need to provide a demo on how to use them.
  2. If you would like to introduce them to Qlik Sense, on how the can make selections etc. Then there is some content in Qlik's official YouTube channel. Content like (Those are not only developers related, but also user related content):
    1. Making selections [1]
    2. Working with bookmarks [2] (How to use them)
  3. There are not many videos that are only user related content, so I would recommend making your own videos for the following reason:
    1. It will make your users feel that it is more personalized
    2. It will allow you to elaborate in detail if you have complex requirements (e.g. You can demonstrate during your video: "You will have to select at least one year in order to populate Sales data" and show in the DEMO how to do so etc. )
    3. It will allow you to show them the actions and usage of the objects/charts in the specific apps that they are going to use, instead of generic apps that will be shown in a random educational video that you have found online. This will allow them to understand faster of the functionality, while they will also get familiar with the app that they are going to use.

I hope that this information was helpful. In case I have misunderstood the use case scenario, please elaborate in details by providing additional information. However, if it has helped you resolve the issue, addressed your concerns or at least pointed you in the right direction, please mark it as Accepted Solution to give further visibility to other community members.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to most likely make my own. I am surprised that Qlik hasn't produced any slick end user only videos.

I was also surprised that Qlik cannot produce a product which allows you to specify colours in a chart by expression and retain a legend based on those colours. Pretty poor form.

Hello,

I believe making your own videos will definitely be better in your use case scenario. In case you would like to have it also made by Qlik, you can submit a feature request [1]. Also regarding the colors based expression issue that you have mentioned, you can try posting a new post or in case you have already posted and the outcome was that it is not natively available, you can submit another feature request[1] for it as well.

I hope that this information is helpful!

Well I'd do that but since it was first requested seven years ago, I won't hold my breath.
