Solved: Issue in Importing extension - Qlik Community

hi,

I am getting some error msg while importing the attached extension into my qlik enterprise server.

But this extension is working fine in my qlik sense desktop.

qlik enterprise version - 2.2.3.0

qlik desktop version - 2.2.4.0

Please advise, its urgent.

I just wrapped up the support ticket here. The root cause was another extension named variable which was already installed on the Sense Server. In digging into that extension it looked to be the same qsVariable extension but missing the vast majority of the dependency files. My notes were:

- Imports fail

- Repo > Trace > System log: Duplicate extension (the extension already exists or occurs more than once in the zip file): variable

- Copied the original extension (which was not working) to the desktop to ensure that we had a backup

- Deleted the original extension named variable

- Import of the new extension worked

- Verified that it worked in the Hub

no as such log files i found in server.

can you please advise which one to be checked for extension log files.

Hi,

Are you sure this was the zip file of extension.

Sometimes it can be possible to zip contains other zip, that is the extension to install.

The outside zip holds git and build infos etc...

yes, this is the zip file i download from github.

I use the same zip in my qlik sense desktop and its absolutely working fine.

Dont know the issue, i am getting while importing the same while importing into qlik server.

check this you may find log file path

Sense: 5Gig of logs in: ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log | Qlik Community

yes, i have checked some of the log files under programme data, but no as such error for exension import related.

May be if you have an enterprise platform, you can produce the error for this extension.
