In QlikSense, when we export data of a chart / table , the measure values doesn't appear in the proper format. I want to see the values as numbers but it gets displayed in the 'e' format. Some times the numbers are shown as text in Excel.
This is not working out even if we apply num format (we know this is used for proper number representation in UI only).
If we use Round function values are mismatching with some decimal number differences.
I think qlik should have a mechanism to export data with proper formatting.
Thanks

Hi Chenna,
To repeat your problem, could you send an example Excel file and also your qvf file.

Markus
Hi Chenna, this is a common issue and I think it has to be more with excel than with Qliksense. Have a look at this article that might help:
Why does my exported CSV data get converted to weird formats?
Hope it helps,
Andrés
Hi Markus,
I have attached sample QVF file with the excel file exported

Hi Beck,
I can't access this link
Can you share the correct url?
Thanks

Hi Chenna,
I checked your files, seems like numbers shown in Excel are in 'E' -format, but that's only a format and those are actual numbers shown in Excel address bar. There is #,0#############E+### format used in Excel. Below there is a picture of Excel format and in address bar there is actual number:
I loaded that Excel file to Sense and numbers are correct, those are actual numbers because Sense don't transfer formats, only actual cell values. Below there is a picture of Sense after Excel connect and reload:

Hi Markus,
Thanks for the update.
But what is the mechanism when we export data from Qlik to Excel,
I feel it (excel) should display the data same way it is in Qlik report.
Are there any settings we can do in Qlik?.
Thanks
Chenna
Hi Chenna,
I found an Sense option which shows correct formats in Excel. You can use custom number settings:
Then settings will be right in Excel also:

Hi Markus,
I have tried this method earlier and worked as expected.
But I want this to be driven through expressions by applying Num format. The reason for this is I have many expressions with different formats and used in different objects. If I have to manage same format, I have only option to apply the format with in the expression and use it as many places as I can.
Let me know if I'm thinking something wrong.
Thanks
Chenna
