I want to ask you if is possible to preselect all items in a listbox when i open/reload the dashboard.

you can do it , 

but selecting all values will give the same result as not selecting any value 

so why do you want to do it?

Is it possible that the checkbox are selected and by default the charts should be empty.When I select any user name from the dropdown then only it should reflect in the chart and I should be able to deselect the checkboxes also?

Hi,
Yes you can do that. default bookmark is one of the options in qlik sense.
If representation is checkbox/button/list you can make a extension as per requirement with options to select default value for the dimension.
