Hi all,
I have a sales data, This data is seeing different people for different regions,
When US people open the dashboard it shows the sales as Doller format
When UK people open the dashboard it Pound format,
IND people open the dashboard shows INR format.
For eg: one user is there in US today that person the open the dashboard it shows the Doller in money, That person moving to UK and Open the dashboard in UK location, it shows the UK money format in this way...
Thanks
Ram
Hello,
My personal opinion is that this can cause some issues due to the exchange rate. If you load data for sales and you have the value Total sales 2,000,000 USD for example and then you open the same app in UK and you now show 2,000,000 GBP then the amount presented is the same, but the value is not the same. Because 2,000,000 USD is 1,585,580 GBP (as of today).
Now if you still want to display a different currency based on location then natively it might not be 100% supported, mainly because Qlik Sense doesn't have access to your location.
One suggestion would be to try based on a time zone map the currency symbol, but again there are multiple countries that can be mapped to the same time zone, so it will not work as you need it to.
The only recommendation that I can think of is to manually update the value SET MoneyFormat='€#,##0.00;-€#,##0.00'; in the Data load editor which will apply the desired symbol in the app. For a more native automated solution, you can submit a feature request [1] and specify that a function returning current location/geolocation etc. could be beneficial for you and other users.
I hope that this information was helpful. In case I have misunderstood the use case scenario, please elaborate in details by providing additional information. However, if it has helped you resolve the issue, addressed your concerns or at least pointed you in the right direction, please mark it as Accepted Solution to give further visibility to other community members.
