Locked excel doc like source of data for QS app

Hi guys,

I need to use excel doc like source of data for QS app, but I need this excel doc is locked with password, because I must be sure that someone will not change the data...

But if I lock this doc, I cannot reload app with this...

What can I do?

Hi Jasmina,

I suggest you to set the file's attributes set to read-only (right click and select properties -> tick read-only).

But I don't need read-only, because some user will change something from time to time....

But others should not! And I am afraid someone can make that, I make big wrong.

Is the entire workbook protected or just individual sheets?

I think Sense should be able to read protected Excel sheets.

Remove password protection

Password protected files are not supported by Qlik Sense, so you need to remove password protection from the spreadsheet before loading it into Qlik Sense.

If there is a write-lock applied the document is read-only and no user without this write-password could change the document whereby I'm not sure if Sense could handle this kind of lock by a normal flat-file load.
