Mashup - CurrentSelections bar - disabling selections tool

Is there a way to disable the Selections Tool (image attached) on the Current selections bar, when including it in the mash up? The idea is to prevent the user from clicking on it and launching the selections tool which takes up the whole window.

You can create a separate div for that area and give disabled="true".
