Dear all,

I am trying to install Qlik Sense server component of version 2.0 on windows server 2012 R2. Now after successful installation over platform . I am facing service failure issue .

These are my major observation :

1. Repository Database service  and Dispatcher service is showing in running state .

2. below services are failed to start after initial successful installation

     i. Scheduler Service

     ii. Repository Service

     iii. Proxy Service

     iv. Printing Service

     v  Engine Service.

NOTE: Software is installed using DOMAIN USER who is part of Local Administrator Group & setup file is installed with "Run as Administrator".

Same here. But starting the services manually works fine for me. Perhaps this is possible for you too.

Hi,

Check weather you login with the same user or not which you use to install the Qliksense Server and after login restart all services manually.

Hi,

Tired all the following steps

Steps:

1. Rebooted the Server.

2. Manually tried to start the service.

3. Tired to run service with LocalSystem.

4. While installing logged in with same user id & password which used to install the Qliksense Server.

5. Uninstalled the Qliksense Server, deleted all the folders previously installed, again installed the Qliksense with local Administrator User & same user id & password provided to run the services.

But still those service are not running.

On Server Only .Net Framework4.5.2 & Qlik Sense Server is installed.

HI Jigar,

Please make sure with user login..it should be same with you have installed Qliksense Setup..

- Qlikview Server should not be installed...bcoz Qliksense and Qlikview server will not work together.

-Restart you server once and try to start services again manually..

Kindly do this and let me know..

Thanks

Hi Jigar,

Were you able to find the solution for above problem.

I'm having exactly similar scenario both with Environment and Issues that you're facing. I can say, I'm getting exactly what you've faced and I have exactly similar configurations.

Please help if you had a fix to this.

Many thanks in advance.!

Hey Guys,

I came up with the solution in my environment but don't know the root cause of it.

Initially there was network connectivity through internet which has full access, after some time there is environment change, Internet switched to LAN of organization, it works for some days than suddenly stops,

Conclusion : Would be after month completion, it may ask to check the License online with qlik, due to LAN (limited access), it won't be able to check the LEF over the network due to that Services fails to start.

Pls note this is right now Pre Assumption for me.

Hi Abhay,

Thanks for your feedback. But that doesn't help in my case. Repository Service itself is not getting started and it gets stuck there itself and come out saying "Couldn't start in timely fashion".

I didn't get chance to enter license details as I couldn't even open Qlik Management Console.

Hi Jigar!

Take a look at the following thread:

Qlik Sense 2.0.1 - Cannot start services after update

Even though your installation is a clean one, try following those steps:

. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

3. In the right pane, locate the ServicesPipeTimeout entry. Note If the ServicesPipeTimeout entry does not exist, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:

a. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

b. Type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then press ENTER

4. Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify.

5. Click Decimal, type 120000, and then click OK. This value represents the time in milliseconds before a service times out.

Note: 120000 milliseconds (2 minutes) is equal to what the default configuration should be. You may find you need increase this number. 300000 (5 minutes) may be more suitable.

6. Restart the computer.
