Need help with understanding a variable

Sum({<flag_cashflow={1}>+<Date={"$(=vMaxDate)"}>}cash_inflow_sgd+([MARKET_VALUE]*-(Date=max(total Date))))

How do I interpret the above variable formula?

I don't really understand how the + and the *- work.

Thank you!

Hello,

There are official documentations that can help you understand better what these operators do. Here are the links:

  • Set analysis [1]
  • Set modifiers with set operators [2]

An brief example is:

Dataset:

Operators:

I would recommend you to simplify the expression and break it in smaller parts. After that use the smaller parts on a simpler dataset and after that you can use the entire expression on the simpler dataset. This will give you much clear view of how the operators in set analysis work.

I hope that this information was helpful. In case I have misunderstood the use case scenario, please elaborate in details by providing additional information. However, if it has helped you resolve the issue, please mark it as accepted solution to give further visibility to other community members.
