Performing calculations on the data

Is it possible to compute calculations on the data in Qlik Sense?

I have time series data that I need to compute the period over period change on and then the absolute deviation for the growth rates.  Finally, I would need to average all of the deviations.   Is there a way to perform these series of calculations?

Let me understand you requirement.

1. First of you want to compute the Change (Current - Previous)

2. and then you want to take the absolute value for the change and compute the deviation. Some think like in this website ------ http:/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deviation_(statistics)

3. and then compute average for those values.

The answer is yes.

However in all honesty, sometimes statistics packages are doing a better job at this.

So I see other people importing data from statistic packages.

Very likely. Perhaps you can post a small qlikview document with some data and a more detailed explanation of what you're trying to calculate and an example of the exact results you expect based on your example data.

Here is an example of what I'd like to compute using Qlik Sense-

The original data is Contr_MSA.  The final output variable I'd like to use is the measure of consistency of growth, which is the difference of Deviation and average annual growth.

I would like to know if it's possible to compute this measure internally in Qlik.
