Publishing an app from within the Hub

Hi,

To date when it has come to publishing an app we have gone into the QMC, picked the app from there and selected to Publish it to a Stream.

We now want to allow users to Publish directly from the Hub without giving them access to the QMC, allowing for a more self service and and self collaboration approach.

The Security Rule of OwnerPublish is set to the context of Both in Hub and QMC, yet we are not seeing the option to Publish in the Hub at present.  I presume this should appear like the Publish To Shared Cloud option in QlikCloud?

Hi Steve,

This is not a current capability of Qlik Sense Enterprise (but is on the roadmap).  Qlik Sense Cloud is built on Qlik Sense Enterprise however the hub it uses is a custom solution just for Qlik Sense Cloud so the features are different.  You likely also noticed that a users can upload a data file in the Qlik Sense Cloud hub but cannot in the Qlik Sense Enterprise hub.  Overtime the capability will be more similar, this approach enabled us to provide the most important features to each edition a quickly as possible.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for coming back on this one.  Can I please add a +1 to any list of what features people want to see added soon.  With so many neat visual features in 2.1.1, allowing colours to be set by users who don't even have edit rights for instance, it seems like a bit of an oversight that this functionality was not added also.

Will keep an eye out on the future versions.  For now we will probably ask users to come out of Sense and email an admin to ask for their app to be promoted.  We don't want to direct users to the QMC could be confusing for them - particularly for users for whom most options are greyed out.
