Qlik Sense Desktop Install

Hi Community.

I have a Puzzle that I am hoping can be resolved. So, I run through the install and it installs .Net framework and the general installer and it all seems fine.

Once finished I hit my new desktop icon for QLIK Sense Desktop...and nothing!!

The Qliksense.exe does launch in the processes tab of windows task manager but the actual program never fires up and opens??

Wasn't sure why so I did uninstall and reinstall...same problem?

Any ideas?

Hello,

- What is your Windows version? What is the Qlik Sense version?

- Try right click on Sense icon--> Open file location. Try same thing from there. You may want to try with Run As Administrator option.

- If you have your antivirus open during the installation then try disabling it and reinstall. I encountered problems with antivirus programs, but generally they failed at some point during the installation. Not exactly your case.

I am running a windows 7 professional SP1 (64-bit)

Doesn't appear to be Anti virus in this case, have been back over the settings.

Hello,

Can you try the following flow:

1. uninstall

2. Restart the computer (not necessary in general but just trying to make sure the registry makes up its mind)

3. rename this folder: C:\Users\<your user>\Documents\Qlik

4. reinstall with "Run as Admin" option.

Hi Peter,

Interesting. I can't say what's wrong unfortunately.

But maybe you can try installing to another computer (with same setup file pls) and see if it works. If works then we can start trying to find the differences between the two machines.

Hi Peter,

Sometimes it helps to manually clean the temp folder from Qlik Sense Browser files(not sure if it helps in this case though).

1. Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Temp

2. Remove all folders that starts with QlikSenseBrowser (QlikSenseBrowser{versionnumber} and QlikSenseBrowserCache)

3. Start Qlik Sense Desktop

Really appreciate you giving it a go...no luck though

I don't really have access to anyone else's computer to try installing elsewhere. Its a real shame because I used Qlik Sense at my last place but I cant showcase it at this job at the moment.

What does the logs say? You can find the logs in C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Log.
