Qlik Sense Migration

Hello Qlik Friends!

I am looking at ideas/best practices towards migration of Qlik sense across environment without manual interventions.

We are in the process of setting up the environment and hence QDF is not yet in place.

However, we are looking at ideas to involve minimum manual interventions to change connections and QVD folder paths while migrating code across environment. We are thinking around storing all connections and paths in a static file in each environment which can be accessed from the QVF and being update automatically.

Thanks,

Alip

Thanks Rohit for your response.

However, what I am looking for is an automated way to migrate QVF across environments.

Hi Alip

Can you please clarify what is the meaning of across environment ?

So what I am referring to here is an methodology to update connection details in the same QVF seamlessly. The QVF should not have manual changes required by the developer/admin while migrating across environments say from Dev to test.

So we figured out a simple solution to this.

We created the same connection name across all environments and update it with the respective connection strings and credentials. Did the same with the Folder connections too.

Once that is being done, we do not have to update the connection names in the code and the connection also needs to be set up only once across the environments.
