Hello,

With Qlik Sense desktop, I can't open an application.

In the hub, I can open all applications except the one I want. When I click on it, I see circles/rounds as when oppening application but it stay at this step....

The size of the application is 4Mo.... and I tried with the versions 3.1.2 and 3.1.0

How can I open it ?

In Qlik Sense Desktop 3.1 SR3 set AppRecoveryMode = 1 in settings.ini file, and try to reopen it.

Try to do the right click on the app and select "Open without data".

Just to clarify, are you using a Desktop or Server QS version?

How much memory you have on that system? Looks like your PC does not have enough resources to open the file or the file was corrupted...

Can you check system resources (via Task Manager, for example) and how they are changing when you are trying to open the file?

I'm using Qlik Sense Desktop.

The application worked this morning, I reloaded it to update data (no changes in the application), and during reload, an error message appeared (I don't remember what it say). Qlik Sense desktop was freezed I had to force restart Qlik Sense desktop.

I have 8Go Ram and my PC works ok.

Unfortunately, your case sounds like a file corruption...

Openning the file without the data fixes the problem sometimes (if only the data was messed up), but looks like QS messed the file completely when it crashed this morning....

The only other thing to try is to open your file on other PC (or QS Server edition). I've got my file fixed this way once (I've lost the data, but my charts and script were saved).

Qlik Support might be another option (they might have some tools to save at least some portions of corrupted files)....

I had exactly the same problem yesterday. I lost 6 hours of work at 8.30pm (my automatic backups had stopped working) last night as I was just completing a job

I had to start again at 4.30am as the upgrades were promised today. Now finished but at least I'm now aware my backup facility is no longer working.

I could find a back up of my application in folder "AppBackup" of the Qlik Sense sense Directory.

But I reproduced the bug several times. It happens when I stopped a reload of the application. Sometimes, the reload doesn't work too (nothing happens in after clicking on the reload button)...

Fabrice,

I discover few days ago that stopping Qlik Sense in the middle of a load process (by terminating the job in the task manager -for sure- or cancelling/aborting the job -not 100% sure-) freeze QS for good, in our case we could not open anything else; we have to re-boot the workstation to get back to normal.

We are using QS Desktop 3.1 and 3.1 SR2

I had the same problem twice in the past week, both f which caused me to lose everything.  Very frustrating.  Did you come across any solution other than "more frequent backups"?
