Qlik Sense desktop live connection to MySQL DB

Dear Members,

I am new to the forum and have a question. I have installed Qlik Sense Desktop and created a connection to MYSQL DB on a remote server. Its able to see the columns and records. But got stuck in creating a visualization from live DB. But managed to create dashboards from excel.

Does Qlik Sense Personal allow live visualization of data from my DB?

Thanks,

Chackz

Hi Chackz

The app needs to be reloaded to retrieve new data from the SQL DB every time. You can go to Data Manager, click on the + sign, select your SQL connection under DATA CONNECTIONS, and then you can select tables from your DB. You have to select the tables (on the left) and columns on the right (when a table is selected). Click on Add Data when you are done. If there is only one table you can load the data. If you have more than one table then you can drag them over each other to create associations (similar to a FULL OUTER JOIN). You can then also create a custom association if the recommended one doesn't work. Then you have to load the data.

You can also create a custom script in the Data Load Editor if you want some more advanced functionality.

Every time you want new data you have to load the data again.

Hope this helps.

Mauritz
