Qlik Sense engine performance help

Hi all,

In my work place we have an Internal dashboard which holds a very big data and from 3 or 4 different sources and around 20 sheets, using tables/pivot, pie chart, table chart, few different extensions

and on our server we have 10 CPUs, 70GB memory (RAM) but when we open this one dashboard all CPU's go to 99% or 100% and the RAM over 60GB used by this (Qlik Sense Engine)

So each chart with 1 dimension or expression takes a lot of time to load

Would you please help with this

What could be the issue/ extensions, large data, script or ?

Many thanks

Hi Mark,

there's no synthetic keys or incorrect joins,

its around 17million rows

no if statements in expression

can you explain why you would show 0 or 1 for this?

as we 17million rows in the table, i'm forcing the user to select a year first before the data shows which will reduce the data based on the year filter.

It is hard to say exact approach to sorting the issue with out actually seeing the app.

But if your happy with the Data model i would be looking at a few things.

Can i reduce the data set?

Do i need all the history?

Do i need all the fields?

Do i need transaction information, i.e. aggregate values in script.

If that doesn't work then look to see if Direct Discovery is an option

First of all CPU 100% is typically not an issue. if i remember correctly Qlik designs it to use 100% if needed. Issue is length of time the spike occurs for. if long it most likely points to issue in the view side. i.e. triggers, expressions being run on load

Ram is bigger concern. That points to your data model and size of your application.

Whats the size of your app?

Concur with Mark on the approach.

I would use Robs document analyzer to check.See below

Hi Dilip,

The RAM goes to 98>% and goes between 95> <98% till the visual is loaded, (table/chart)

The app size is 800mb

I have tried to use the document analyzer, but it shows me this error

I have resolved the error by just restarting the Qliksense App
