How does it work when using a browser to access the Qlik Sense Desktop?

   http://localhost:4848/hub

Does it behave in the same way?

You will have to have Qlik Sense Desktop running already on the same Windows computer as you try the link from.

My goodness, it works now! But do we have to run Qlik Sense from browser? That doesn't make sense?

I beg to differ. It makes a lot of sense to run Sense from a browser. If you are using Qlik Sense Enterprise or Qlik Sense Cloud that is the only option of running the applications. This is the natural way of using Sense. That goes for mobile devices to like iPads, smart phones ....

Well Qlik Sense has always been able to run from the browser- it was built from the beginning to do that as it's primary client.

In fact the visual part (UI) of the normal Qlik Sense Desktop is being rendered by the Qlik Sense Desktop program with an embedded version of the open source Chromium browser which again is the basis for Google Chrome browser. So the Qlik Sense Desktop is a wrapper around Chromium browser with a single user version of the QIX-engine.

It has several benefits of accessing your apps from a browser even for Qlik Sense Desktop. You can for instance scale your app windows by using CTRL+ or the mouse wheel and CTRL. Very handy if you you have a high resolution screen and want to make the app more readable by zooming in and out. It is also possible to have many tabs but also many independent windows open against the same application or multiple applications....
