QlikSense Group access.

Hi Qlikers,

We have created user LDAP connections(User Directory Connectors) to provide active directory connectors access to Qliksense hub and its streams and applications. Now we have users from different regions having access to different streams and applications and more users might be added in future. I had created multiple streams, each for a different region.

My question is,

Would it be possible to segregate the users according to their region, create a group and provide common access to those groups to access only the respective region stream without creating additional LDAP connections.

The reason for the requirement is, every time when a new user is added in AD, we would like not to provide individual access to those new users, instead when I add those users to the  groups, the rule should be automatically applied and user should be able to view the stream/Application.

Please provide detailed steps if possible or guide me to the proper link. I was trying in the community to find the appropriate solution.

Thanks in advance.

Sure, that should be no problem.

You assign the users a membership of a different AD group for each region, and create a security rule for each stream that allows users from the matching AD-group access.

The security rules as from the help article, where the condition should refer to the user.group attribute

Yes, this is core functionality inside of Qlik Sense. For reference materials The help site piece that @jfkinspari referred to is good. From my side, this primer on rules was the main driver for recording this presentation:
