QlikSense-Increasing the No. of columns in Table

Hi,

I loaded an excel file containing 13 fields with sample data.

I created a table and added all the fields to it.But it is showing only 10 columns in the sheet. And It has a column picker at the right end of table through which I can change the columns to be displayed.

But I dont need it like that.I want to see all the fields at a time.

Is there a option or something by which I can achieve this?

I have attached excel file and the application file.

Can anyone help me on this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Manasa,

Do you want to put all the columns in the table?  If so, you can use the Add Column button to put the rest in there, as per screenshot below.

Hi Brian,

I can add into the table, but all the columns are not displayed at a time in the sheet.I need to select the columns to be displayed by column picker. But I want to see all the columns added to the table on the sheet without having to priortize which columns to be shown.

Manasa.

Hi Manasa,

I'm pretty sure the column picker is displayed when resolution does not support showing all the columns.  For example, if the chart is displayed on a higher res device, you might be able to see all 13 columns, rather than 10.  As i understand it, the column picker is a design choice to keep things looking "simple" in Sense.  For example, here's a screenshot of all 13 columns being displayed on my high res screen.

Perhaps to answer in a different way, i don't think it is possible to manually change the width of the columns in a table.  That's something that Sense automatically interpolates based on the screen resolution, and why the column picker might appear when viewing on a lower res device than a device that has the resolution to display all columns.

Hi,

Brian is correct.  This approach was chosen because Qlik Sense uses responsive design.  Qlik Sense app work on any screen resolution so Qlik Sense dynamically makes the 'best' choice on how many columns to display.  If the user would like to see more columns at once, the table can be maximized to use the entire screen.  Also if the screen size or orientation is changed (e.g. the window is made bigger/small or the screen is rotated on a mobile device) Qlik Sense will immediately adjust to optimize for the new size / orientation.

Your display looks a little different from the Qlikview I'm using, but is there an checkbox/option to enable horizontal scroll bar per chance?  It's not a fit to screen, but if qliksense thinks cramming all the columns into one screen would make them unreadable, I wouldn't know how to convince it otherwise.  The scrollbar would at least let you move back and forth without having to pick and chose, and export or print the whole table.

Hi Brian & Josh,

Even I want to know if there is a option / setting to enable horizontal scroll bar so that I can see all the columns in the table.

Manasa.

Hi Manasa,

There is no check box to add a horizontal scroll bar at this time.  I will pass your feedback to our Products organization.

Dear Manasa,

If you are interested to see all the columns/fields in one view. Then you need to Zoom In and Zoom Out in your browser.

Here are the shortcuts,

Zoom In         = CTRL and +

Zoom Out      = CTRL and -

Fit to Screen resolution = CTRL and 0

Kind regards,
