QlikSense Map visualization : trying to put countries with data from scratch

Hello all, my issue is that i can't create a map visualization on QlikSense to place countries. Its possible on the examples but not using my data. My question is do we need necessarily to put longitude and lagitude for countries ? how can we do that from scratch ?

When i put "add dimension on a map it says "no hits". Do i have to do something special to the data ? There is no video i've seen showing the solution

Re: QlikSense Map visualization : trying to put countries with data from scratch

Hi,

You can make use of the map visualisation in 2 ways. Either by plotting points on a map or by using a polygon.

1) for Creating a point map:

You will be needing the latitude and Longitude of a location. This Latitude and Longitude has to be used to create a point. Use this code to create  a  point: GeoMakePoint(Lat,Long)

Following the Video and it should help you create one:

2) you can even make use of a map by using the polygon information. you will be needing a KML file which has the boundaries of the country you would like to visualise.
