It is a little bit unclear what you mean. Is it users updating the variable with the column values? When you say you want to trigger the rest connector - do you mean that you want to initiate a reload of the app? Users can't update variables that are used in the script (where you would pass something on to the rest connector), but you could have some external file, etc where that the users update. To trigger a reload you can use the new function with a button or a button with a API call.
