Removing user name from Data Connections

I see a lot of old posts (as old as 2016) with this same question.

1) Is the only option (still) to go to the data connection and rename the the connection to exclude the user who created that connection.

2) Why can't a new connection be created under the data connection section of QMC ( a new button called  "Create" ?

connections can/will need to be renamed either in the create/edit UI of the connector itself or in the QMC , the new feature request is going through the ideation process, thanks for raising
