Return a filtered list for a Histogram using a SET expression.

I have a Histogram what takes the following field

• TOTAL_ADD_EFFORT

I have a drop down that sets a variable  vFunctionalGroup thus satisfying this SET Expression

• {$<TRACKER_FUNCTIONAL_GROUP={'$(vFunctionalGroup)'} >}

How can you return just the values for the histogram depending on what drop down is selected? I have tried the following, however this results in an error

• =AGGR({$<TRACKER_FUNCTIONAL_GROUP={'$(vFunctionalGroup)'} >}PIN,TOTAL_ADD_EFFORT)

For Each PIN there is a TOTAL_ADD_EFFORT for either of the groups selected.
