Section Access NTNAME or USERID

Hi Guys,

Now i am confused on the NTNAME AND USERID for section access.

As  my understanding, NTNMAE was the OSUER() corresponding to a windows, USERID was the user login ID, i think they should same, but as checked, sometimes NTNAME works and sometimes USERID works, i dont find the reason. Can you help to explain the different between NTNAME and USERID?  Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Haifeng

Hi

i think you are confusing Qlikview and Qlik sense together ,

in Qlikview you could authenticate users by two methods :

1.NTNAME - the user identity from active directory or other authentication  source , using this you can support SSO.

2. USER ID - internal Qlikview users identity a users and password managed by Qlikview , you can use this method as stand alone or as second tier of security

In Qlik sense

there is no option for internal users authentication  , you can only use external authentication source like active directory

so you only have the field USERID in the load statement , but it actually matches the field NTNAME from Qlikview ,

and it's a little bit confusing
