Security Rule - Duplicate Apps in QlikSense Hub

good afternoon,

I would like to create a Security Rule, which allows ContentAdmin to duplicate an app in QlikSense Hub (if the App is published)

I have created:

((user.roles="ContentAdmin")) and ((resource.resourcetype = "App" and !resource.stream.Empty()) or (resource.resourcetype = "App.Object" and resource.published = "true"))

with Create,Read,Update and Publish selected, but do not get the option to "duplicate" when right-clicking the app.

The app Owner is the only one to have the duplicate option.

I have found references to this in other posts, but they lead to a dead link.

thank you,

We have the exact opposite requirement. We find anyone with ContentAdmin can duplicate ANY app, which we do not want. I would like to turn this off for individual apps, is that possible now in 3.1?

Any update on this ?? Can we duplicate apps even if the user is not owner ?

It was not available in 3.2 (SR2)... Did not try it on 4.0 (aka "June 2017") yet. But I've checked the release note and the fix is not listed there...

Hi,

I was able to create a security rule to allow duplication of public apps, owner or not.

The rule is:

App_*,App.Objcect_*

with create, change owner and publish

I don't know if the publish is actually needed, but I needed it for my scenario.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Does the user in your rule need to have admin rights? I tried it with a regular user and it doesn't work.

No. None of my users have any special roles. I do see that I did increase the "Actions" of the rule to be "Create", "Update", "Delete", "Publish" and "Change Owner".

Also, I have this condition in the mix, "resource.owner.userId=user.userId", but I think that was applied to prevent non-owners from duplicating the applications, I don't recall on this one.

I am also struggling with this one. I want my users NOT OWNERS to be able to duplicate the app to their own workspace.

I can get just about every permission except duplicate.

Emilie - I am using the September 2018 version and I still can't find a way to duplicate an app that I'm not the owner for in the Hub. Although I am the administrator for the system with all permissions the only way I can duplicate is via the QMC. Is there anyway to permit this yet in the Hub?

Hi - You should be able to right click on the app and get a menu selection, one of which is to "duplicate".  See image.  Here, I am logged in as Administrator.

Also, check the screen resolution.  I have found that this affects the ability to render the menu selections.  So, try to reduce it from the browser.
