Show Date-Dimension as Year or Month

Hi guys,

in my linechart (see screenshot below) I'm using Dates as Dimension. Is it possible to show the monthnames or years instead of the dates (01.01.2017 etc) on the x-axes without using another dimension?

you can create   in script  

month(Datefield) as month

year(datefield) as year

and use this field as dimension in chart
