Table Sort & Hide

I want to have a table which would ideally looks like this:

Two filters would be area and date. In the table each staff has a rank and a column for the highest rank they have get (min of rank).

Instead of the above I'm getting this:

The 2 extra rows here are the staffs who are previously mapped to this area, but not on the current date selected. But as my highest rank calculation needs to ignore the date selection, those staffs show up. Is there a way I can take out the staffs who do not belong to this area on this exact date, but still ignore the date selection on highest rank calculation? Thank you for any advice!
